Weider's Paint & PRO Hardware, located in Honeoye Falls Marketplace Plaza, was named the 2006 PRO Hardware Retailer of the Year by its distributor, The Bostwick-Braun Company.

This award is given to the PRO Hardware store that has effectively utilized the marketing and merchandising programs that constitute the PRO advantage. Owner Ned Green and his staff have adopted the PRO philosophy of excellence and leadership, and offer customer service second to none.

"Weider's PRO Hardware represents what is right with being an independant retailer - especially as an independant hardware store," said The Bostwick-Braun Company Promotions Manager Damian Nicholson. "Ned Green and his family epitomize what can be accomplished with perseverance, persistence, and ingenuity."

Green accepted this award at Bostwick-Braun's annual Dealer market, held in Toledo, Ohio, on October 5, 2007.

Weider's has been in business since 1879, orginally located in Rochester. It was then a harness manufacturing and repair shop. As the area's need for horse-related items decreased, the store became the largest hardware shop in the area. Green purchased the store in 1991 with his brother-in-law, and became the sole owner in 2005.

Weider's has an 8.000 square foot store and employs 7 full time and 18 part-time employees. The store offers everything the do-it-yourselfer needs, from an extensive line of paint, tools & hardware, plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, pet supplies & food, and services including rental equipment, deck maintenance, painting, key cutting & locksmithing, and much more.
